Eric Ripert
French export Eric Ripert is executive chef at Le Bernardin in New York City and the 2003 James Beard Outstanding Chef of the Year. Ripert came to the statesto Washington's Watergate Hotelafter stints in several renowned kitchens in Paris. He moved to Le Bernardin in the '90s and in 1995 earned his first four-star rating from the New York Times.

Ripert answers Men's Health readers' diet and cooking questions in his Q&A column "The Healthy Appetite," serving up ways to be both gourmet and healthy. He also recently published A Return to Cooking, a collaboration with photographers Shimon and Tammar Rothstein, artist Valentino Cortazar, and writer Michael Ruhlman. As chair of non-profit City Harvest's Food Council, he helps raise funds and works to increase the quantity and quality of food donations.
